Here is a brief recap from the April 11 meeting of the Lebanon City Council:
Mayor Jared Carr led in a moment of silence for former Mayor Stanley H. “Bud” Allen and read a proclamation declaring April 14 as Arbor Day in the City of Lebanon.
✅ Council Approved Bill 6268 authorizing Dunn Mowing LLC to execute lawn mowing for city facilities.
✅ Council Approved Bill No. 6269 authorizing the city to enter into an agreement with L&B Services LLC for road boring services.
What does this mean?
This agreement helps streamline and speed up the process of procuring road boring when needed. Different city departments can assign and use this service as needed.
✅ Council approved bill 6270 authorizing the purchase of PUPI Fiberglass Crossarms for the Electric Department.
What does this mean?
The Electric Department is always working to increase the reliability of our electric grid. Crossarms are necessary for improving the system, and fiberglass crossarms, as opposed to wood, have up to a four-time longer life span leading to better reliability.
✅ Council approved Bill 6272 authorizing the surplus of a 2004 Precision Fire Engine to the Tri-County Fire and Rescue Association and the surplus of a 2008 Smeal 75’ ladder apparatus?
What does this mean?
The fire department recently purchased a new quick engine truck and a 75’ ladder truck. Both vehicles will be delivered soon. Surplus of these vehicles will help recoup some of the money for the new vehicles and help meet the needs of other area fires and rescue agencies. The city will retain the current apparatuses until delivery of the new ones.
✅ In other business, council accepted the results of last week’s general municipal election and council members Gib Adkins, Ward 1; Sheila Mitchell, Ward 2; Jeffrey Mutchler, Ward 3; and Chuck Jordan, Ward 4, were sworn into new terms. Councilmember Sheila Mitchell was elected Mayor Pro Tem for the upcoming year.
